Fiona qualified from University College Hospital London in December 1991. Having conducted her elective studies at a general practice in Toronto, she began full time work in January 1992 in a mixed practice in a medical complex in Northampton, initially as a vocational trainee and then as an associate.
In 1994, increasing her surgical experience, she took a part-time honorary clinical assistant position in the maxillo-facial unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. After leaving Northampton in 1999, Fiona travelled and also held a locum position in general practice.
Fiona pursues post-graduate studies in general dentistry and in 2003 earned a diploma in post-graduate dental studies from Bristol University (DPDS), later gaining further experience from aesthetic courses in Sweden and Belgium. She spent two years in a mixed practice in Warwickshire followed by a year in a specialist private practice in Mahé, Seychelles, finally returning to Leicester in April 2004 to join the Carisbrooke Specialist Dental Practice, where she is a generalist with an ongoing interest in cosmetic dentistry and sleep apnoea.
Fiona has continued her post-graduate studies, completing the Dr Mike Wise and Dr Chris Orr one-year courses in general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry respectively, as well as further courses taken in the UK and Europe.
In her spare time, Fiona enjoys spending time with her family, running, martial arts and yoga.
