Deleep Basi completed his Batchelor in Dental Surgery from Newcastle upon
Tyne in 2013 and was awarded the Sopwith Prize for best combined examined
chairside treatment and presented restorative cases.
Subsequently, he gained a role as Senior House Officer in the Maxillofacial
and Oral surgery department at Hull Royal Infirmary. As the regional trauma
and cancer centre, his role involved patient care in ward and the A&E
department to support management of life threatening and critical cases.
Through this, he gained valuable experience in facial fractures, head and
neck cancer, and intraoral surgical procedures.
Volunteer work helped to shape Deleep’s dental world view. He spent time
treating patients in isolated regions of the Annapurna Mountain range of
Nepal, and separately, working in underprivileged regions of northern India.
Deleep’s true passion lies in prosthetic dentistry. To further this, he was
accepted on the 4-year Prosthodontic Masters and Specialist Training program
with King’s College London at Guy’s Hospital. Graduating with Distinction.
Successful MPros examination with the Royal College of Surgeons of England
granted his addition to the General Dental Council Specialist Register in
Prosthodontics.
