We will be delighted to receive referrals for all types of dental implant referrals from Single Tooth replacement including the aesthetic zone to Partial and Full Mouth restoration using dental implants. The specialists at Carisbrooke have over 20 years experience using the Astra system but also use the Ankylos system for Syncone removal bridges and the Straumann system.

We have an CT scanner in house and most patients are scanned for the area in question. We feel that this is the preferred pre-operative radiographical examination especially in the posterior mandible and essential in all cases requiring sinus augmentation.

Both hard and soft tissue grafting, including sinus augmentation, can be provided for your patients where necessary and indicated.

We normally restore the dental implants we have placed as part of the treatment plan as we feel that this gives us better control over the final outcome of the case but will consider carrying out the surgical phase of the treatment only, if referring practitioners are confident about restoring the case.

Our preferred restorations are usually cement retained for single tooth cases and, wherever possible, screw-retained restorations for multiple units. This allows greater freedom for refurbishment, or repairs, to be carried out at a later date, and less risk of cement being trapped sub-gingivally, which has been shown to be a major factor in the risk of peri-implantitis.

We have our own on-site laboratory and all the laboratory work is done in house to allow us to check the work at the various stages of manufacture. The only work that is sent out is for the production of CAD-CAM abutments and frameworks.

We feel it is only ethical to place dental implants into mouths which are free of active periodontal disease and all patients are screened for this as part of the initial consultation. Where required, our team of highly skilled hygienists can provide the level of periodontal health required prior to implant placement assuming the patient is compliant. If this cannot be achieved for any reason we will contact you as the referring practitioner to discuss the case further. Please be assured that all patients will be returned to you after the active phase of treatment for their routine dental care. We will endeavour to keep the patient under review for their implants.
