The Carisbrooke Dental Practice is pleased to announce we are ‘Standing Up Against Bullying’ with England rugby legend Ben Cohen.

Carisbrooke Dental Practice is supporting Ben Cohen’s StandUp Foundation (www.standupfoundation.com) as our charity for 2014. During the year we will be running a number of fundraising events both at the practice and at organized events.

Dr Fiona Phillips, partner of Carisbrooke Dental Practice, has been a keen supporter of Ben’s Foundation and recently took part in an extreme running event ’The Wolf Run’ to raise money and awareness for the foundation (see photo below). As part of the Wolf Run, Fiona tackled 10Km of the toughest mud runs, trail runs and obstacle runs across woodland, thick mud and open ground. Fiona is hoping to take part in another Wolf Run this year to further raise funds and awareness for the StandUp foundation – she has even persuaded Dr Jeremy McCahill to take part!

The Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation is the world’s first Foundation dedicated to raising awareness of the long-term, damaging effects of bullying, and funding those doing real-world work to stop it.

Ben Cohen, MBE, is among the world’s greatest athletes. He is an England Rugby World Cup champion, and second all-time try scorer for his country. In May 2011, Mr. Cohen retired at the top of his game to found the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation. As Chairman of the Foundation, Ben travels worldwide speaking to students and corporations about the importance of character, respect and equality in creating a kinder world. Mr. Cohen was a recent contestant on BBC1’s 11th series of Strictly Come Dancing, surviving until the 8th week with his partner, Kristina Rihanoff.

If you would like support this extremely worthwhile and important charity, ask your dentist or hygienist at your next visit about ways you can help.
